It may sound fancy, but ClearSky® connected asset technology is entirely simple to use and navigate. Each machine is outfitted with a Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and GPS antennae – either in-field by authorized installers or at the factory.

Machine location is derived via satellite through the GPS antennae, while the TCU box stores and transmits information to a data center with cell technology (GSM/GPRS). Information alerts are available for instantaneous viewing 24/7, and are easily managed through JLG’s secure Online Express web center. Instant notifications can be sent to pagers, cellular phones or email accounts for greater fleet connectivity – helping increase run-time while adding directly to the bottom line.

The web center constantly refreshes critical data for more efficient problem solving. Equipment health is quickly represented with red, yellow and green status lights; and just one click offers more in-depth information for effective service dispatching. Daily fault code reports and summaries display key activity while pinpointing fleet trends and usage.

Clearsky® is offered on JLG new-production, UGM units, combustion booms & 150HAX. Clearsky offered as a machine option was implemented in September 2009 for models after the last major software revision level (approximately mid-2004) and became standard on Ultra Booms in mid November 2009 (models dating back to summer 2002).

For Models: 400S, 450A, 460SJ, 510AJ, 600A, 600S, 800A/AJ, 800S/SJ, 740AJ and 600SC, customers must identify the ground module prior to ordering Clearsky installation kit. Units with ground module part number 16600312 and 1600327 will need to upgrade to ground module part number 1600364 to be compatible with Clearsky.
